I'm in the market for a tow vehicle, an older one. Where can I find towing guides that come in the trailer boats magazine every year. It has all the trucks with gear ratios and different cabs with their respective towing capacities. I would prefer something online as I'm looking at various years. Thanks

For the record, I did look at the sticky, I'm looking at some 96-98 trucks as well. I tow maybe 4 times a year. guides for those years would be appreciated. Thanks

i think thats what i used when i was looking for something in that year range. we dont tow often & couldnt afford a newer 1ton yet.

I've tried edmunds and they seem to only give towing cap on the base models, usually with the smallest engine. I'll check out cars.com

If you're looking at Fords, Ford has a good truck fleet website. I just checked it and now you have to register to see it all, but it had towing ratings back into the late '90's with engine/trans detail.
