Can anyone help me decide on Props for my 1984 Chris Craft Stinger 390X.
Here is what I know thus far.
Stock 454's 400 Horse Each.
Stock TRS
Right now Im running Mirage 19p and at 5000 RPM I am topping out at about 56 mph.
I have been thinking of going with a different prop. Should I?
If so which one do you recommend?
Thanks for the help!

Hi there.
I'm running Mercury Revolution 4 blade 14/1/2” x 19P. I am also getting about 58-60mph out of these props and the engines are turning the right rpm as well. I don't think I could change much presently as I am also running stock 420's in my boat.
If I had higher hp engines I think I would go to a five blade and possibly a slightly higher pitch, but for now I think I have about the best setup so far???
Other opinions welcome.

Thanks, I have heard allot of good about the 4 blade props. this Mirage Plus is the only prop I've had on the boat and I'm actually pretty happy with them. I think it cavitates a little too much if you try to get out of the hole in a hurry but other than that they are pretty good.

I tried a pair of four blade "Choppers" on my Stinger 260 this summer and it was an absolute dog getting on plane, but once it was up it scooted along quite nice.
Needless to say I gave the props back to my friend who I borrowed off to try them out. They did not impress me.
I was told Choppers need to be in shallow water and my drives are a bit deep?????
