Default Bravo to maximus

If one was running 30p stock bravos, and wanted to switch to maximus, and gain about 300-400RPM, what pitch maximus would be the place to start? 26? Or 28?

Certainly 26.......if the diameter hasn't been cut down to 15.25 then you'd likely need 24's

(no way 28's will work)

I've found that the stock Maximus does not work well on anything. When you buy the Max, you are basically buying the raw stock. They have a tremendous amount of blade area, and big diameter at 15 5/8" In order for them to work they must be specifically tuned for the boat.

If your gonna run the Maximus, instead of dropping pitch to get the rpm's where they need to be, you'd be much better off sending it to Bblades and have it labbed for the application.

-I tried a set of stock 34 Maximus on the T/S Mystique, (we were presently running labbed B1 37's @5450) The Max's lugged the motors down to 5100, and only ran 91 mph. It had rediculous stern lift. They were terrible and I blew an XR drive within 20 minutes of installing these stock Maximus props. (quite sure from the extra load)
I had sent them to Brett @ Bblades to be labbed specifically for the Mystique, he added quite a bit of cup and took out close to 5/8" diameter. Brett's mods worked like magic, the boat ran 102 mph at 5450 with a much better cruise and holeshot.

..anyway, not sure if I answered your question Joe but good luck!

What are you up to with your boating program?
