I have a pair on my skater love them so far 6 hrs on them bill is learning mercury was not built over night and they did not ruin there reputation for service over night ethier give him a break he has a awsome product and working on service network

My quibble was the price. $35,000 is a lot of coin, but if the drive can handle 1500hp I guess he can charge that much. Why didn't he build a shaft drive? I guess the market for #6 style drives is larger?

Not commenting either way. I have been waiting for some time to hear of someone's experience and finally, someone posted just that.

I believe there was not one negative comment about the product itself.

Also, did Skater do yours as part of a new build or did you retrofit? Anxious to hear the details, positive or negative before I drop $80K on a pair of shiftable drives.

35K, sorry the $34,000.00 the reviewer paid for a leg is WOW far to much. I belive TNT will sell someone that walks up off the street a #6 leg for $20K and while it will not shift it will handle the power that x power boast but has not proven. I cannot see someone putting out 70K for two legs from a unknown, apparent not to professionally ran company and then fork out another what 4-5K for the HD Bravo transom assembly, another couple grand for a steering system, more $ for a bellhousing-drive plate, etc. that would be over 80-90K for a pair of bravos with x power legs and you have to run the expensive propellers. Ouch

Wow sounds like a horrible experience.
A good measure of a company is how it handles customer issues when they arise.
They can have the best product in the world but its useless when they cant do customer service properly

Ouch! You must be out of your mind to think you can throw any hp into a bravo gimble. When I had my Spectre the gimbe was the issue as much as the drive.

That has been my concern. If you break a drive, the boat slows down. If you break the gimble ring, then who knows what the boat will do. It may stop, it may roll, it may hook, who knows.

Please explain the install process on your boat and the tuning, set-up and X-Dimension selection process.

I think I spent 6 hours in one test session how is it that you are so enamored in such a short period of time.

Did you receive any warranty with your drive? Can you tell us what oil is used in the drive? What are the required service intervals on the drive from the manufacturer? How many times has your drive been sent back to X-Power Drive. Do you have a manual for the drive. Have you ever been to X-Power Drives location?

Interesting you never chimed in when I posted my review now all of a sudden you come out with pom poms forgive the pun but that is what it reads like maybe I have some bias due to what I have endured.

Nothing in my review is false it is truthful and accurate based on hours of seat time. Those hours/days include testing numerous props and several drive height changes.

Let me know when you do more than simply write the check.

You are absolutely right keep in mind this is $34k for just the leg. Your post is right on point in all areas. Except that I could not go the number 6 route without doing a tremendous amount of modifications to our boat. In a twin engine set-up you are so RIGHT.

Our boat is a single engine surface drive and through my hard work, ability and skill I have found a way to make it work.

Your right I was outta my mind should have been slapped into reality. The gimbal I am running is a IMCO HP a little stronger but not really what is required.

No when the gimbal breaks the drive goes back with the momentum maybe held on by the trim rams and hydraulics.
The bellows is now open and exposed to incoming water and the input shaft slides out of the carrier and wreaks havoc inside the boat damaging the engine while the boat begins to sink and or take on massive amounts of water.

I won't go into that story further.

P.P.S. Hey Jimkid did your drives come with zincs/anodes to protect them from corrosion? Didn't think so only after Mr. Auberlen gets called out in my thread does he now provide them and he simply took Mercury ones to jerry rig on the drive and has the gall to tell the customer to put them on versus hey bring the drive in and I will install it.
