I was looking for some help with trying to find out what is wrong with my bolsters.
Both seats wont do anything? I click the button and nothing happens. No movement and no sound. Does the boat have to be on for it to work? I turned on the batt but still nothing.
BTW, the seats have not worked since i bought the boat in September. I am just now having time to work on them.
I have never had bolsters so i am not familiar with them.
Any help would be great.... what should i start with?

If neither one works, I would suspect a fuse is blown or there is a wiring issue. You will need a test light or volt meter and checking for power at the seat switch and working backwards. I thought 27 Fountains were sit down boats??? Maybe the bolsters were added later and never wired???

Thanks Griff. Thats a good starting point. Would that fuse be one of the ones under the stearing wheel/ dash? I think there is like 3 - 4 fuses. I also remember one being blown so i replaced it and it blew again. What would cause it to blow?

a short on the circuit would keep causing it to blow. or the motor drawing more amps than the fuse. this can happen if there is too much resistance & the motor is having to draw more power to move its load.

Check the breakers under the rear bench seat. I don't think the fuses under the dash are heavy enough for the electric lift motors.

Not sure where exactly they would be on Fountain. They are in different places on different boats.

I had time to work on the seats today, here is what i found.
Ok, i will start with the passenger seat.
The seat has got power now. I added transmition fluid and it is going down fine. But that is all it will do. I got in the engine hatch and had someone press the up button and i hear the motor working but it is very quiet and does not move the seat at all. When we press the down button it is loud and can tell it is working just fine.
Also when you press the up button all the cabin lights go dim so i know it is wired right.
Any ideas on why it is not moving?
Now the driver seat button works both ways but when you get up under the seat you see they hydraulic part is not attached the the seat hinge. It looks like it should screw into the bottom seat but the hydraulic rod is not threaded like the passengers is. I dont know if it broke off or if it is something that i can buy?? Any help would be great. I hope i was able to explain it well enough.
