Default OIL LINE/HOSE... What to use?

Just wondering if anybody is using the Neoprene for oil line. If so where the best place is to get it. I have braided SS braided line however was wondering what most are using for oil line. The local parts store only has the hyd. hose/fittings.

Thanks,
John

I use this.

Its light, easy to work with, and a lot easier on the hands then steel braided. They also have nylon braided, but it is a lot more expensive. I have my remote filter and oil cooler plumbed with this stuff and it has worked perfect.

I just realized the largest it shows on that link is -10, mine is bigger then that, I think I bought from summit, but you get the idea.

Here is a better link.

did you go with the blue or black hose? i'll probably go this route however i was pricing all the fittings out and it can be a little pricey also. i like the concept though.

I used the black. My local hose shop has essentially the same hose with easy to push on fittings and hose that is very similar, the only difference is the fittings are brass. I have used it also and it worked very well and was very inexpensive. I had them make me a 6ft -12 hose with fittings and it cost me about $15. The place that made it for me was a local farmers hose supply.

I'll have to look into that. All the fittings are ungodly expensive and there in an area where you can't really see them very well anyway. Brass would be fine. I wonder why more automotive stores don't sell this type of stuff or is it just where I live. We have Napa and Auto Value and TSC (Tractor Supply Co.)

Look in your phone book under farm supply and you will find somone that makes hoses, just be careful bucause a lot of stuff they make is for high pressure applictions and the hose inside diameter will be very small to handle the pressure. The hose I had made is the same as the -12 hose in the link I posted, and the fittings are exactly the same only brass, it was low pressure setup by thier standards. It has push lock fittings just like the hose in the link, but cost about 1/4 the price.

I strongly advise against using push-loc. I used it for my oil coolers and the hose came off the fitting at temperature - lost all oil and lost the engine. Savings over braided kind of faded upon reflection...I use braided exclusively now.

if your gonna use the pushlock
its a very good idea to use the little snap clips that they sell for them that go on the end of the hose
Ive used it on my race cars external oiling systems and its worked just fine
I like the XRP brand
