Default Its coming around to that time

When im getting close to purchasing a boat for the summer. I made a previous thread about this but it kind of went off topic and never really got answered.

-If you were me, buying a 1999,2000,2001 25ft Baja Outlaw with a 454 or 496, what would your maximum price for buying be and what price would you try to talk the sellers down to. The prices for these boats range from 25k-35k it seems. I was just told my another member that he would probaly pay 1000 per foot for the 99-01 but im wondering if this price if too cheap. Hopefully I can get some good responses on this.

-Also I need someone to explain the difference between a 454 and a 496 in a baja 25 Outlaw besides the 3-4 mph top speed difference.

Thanks

Depends on the condition, options and power. If it's a 454 Mag depends on if your boating in saltwater or freshwater. If your not concerned about speed then 496Mag is a fine engine...I prefer the 454 Mag in what your referring too and honestly 1000.00 a foot is about right in this market for a 99-01 anything newer than that it'll be based on condtion and options..And of course what your willing to pay.

thats sick that you say that because most of these people seem like they are listing these 2000s for 28-32k....ive mostly been seeing them at 30k+...so you guys think I would be able to make alot of people come down 5k+ from their asking prices?

Can you explain why you prefer the 454 Mag. And yes i boat in the cheasapeake bay so im all fresh water.

wakeboarder just go in with the attitude that you are only going to pay a certain amount and with the market the way it is " if " they want to sell they are going to have to be flexible on the price last August i got my boat 10K under what they were asking for it the guy wanted to sell it i wouldnt buy the first one you see unless it is exactly what you want for the exact price to many people want to sell their boat right now and it is a buyers market

Default Why don't you look for a repo

Repo or short sale would be a great way to go. As long as you get a survey done so there are no worries.

Man there are some really good deals out there. I had been looking for a 25 OL for a while and was finding a few 05's in the under $40K range with an HO. There was even a repo 06 that I could have gotten for around $36K under 30 hrs...

If it was me I'd wait a month or two...they will start to pop up more.
