Using the hose is the best way to get all the old oil out, but it is not the only way. I use one of those vacuum suckers and pull it thru the dipstick.

If you want to use the hose, you need to thread the needle and push it thru the drain plug hole to drain it out.

Also, it was a blast hangin' with you and your girl in Bucyrus !!

Hope we can meet on the water someday soon !!!

I use an oil extractor as well... IMO it's the only way to do an oil change on a boat...

Jason,

Well when they first started dropping the new 496's into 33's nobody at Baja thought to add a second drian plug on the transom in 2001. The first model to get (2) drain plugs was the 30 Outlaw in 2002, and I guess that I can take the credit on that idea? Your 33ol is setup like my old 29ol with a center stringer with a notch in the lower back corner where the drain plug is located. I was able to fish my 7.4 MPI oil hoses down through there one time, but it was such a hassle I never did it again.

To be honest I removed the hose option after a poker run because the fitting was so close the the hull bottom, the bottom flexing broke one of the fittings, and I lost all the oil in one motor to the bilge. Sucking it up the dipstick tube will leave a little less that 1/2 quart in the pan, but it is worth the hassle and clean-up.
