I have a 1997 382 FasTech w/500 HP's (carb), I think they are Gen VI's bit I am not sure. I took the heads off the port engine to get them freshened up (600 + hours) and found a bad lifter (roller) and a bad corresponding lobe on the camshaft. So I need to replace the camshaft and lifters. Questions; 1) can I get the crankcase cover off w/out removing the oil pan? 2) does anyone have the part#'s for the cam and lifters (I am assuming that they were Crane parts)? Thanks.....

Cam selection, call bob mandara 585 654 8583, he has all of cranes cam grinds or have him grind you one of his cams and pick up some extra hp..
You can get the timing cover off wothout pulling the pan but its hard to get back on and with trying to keep the rubber lip of the oil pan gasket in place will be the hard part..
