Default Rick, need your help with sterring set up

The way the steering is set up greatly reduces my turning radius. I need to change it. It is imposible to manuver at idle speeds. I can't take it anymore!!! Please call me 201-852-8488

Thanks

Kendall, when it comes to steering setups, I'm definitely not the expert. Coen could probably help you, or someone like Dave MDG

I know exactly what your talking about. High idle big prop alittle wind and your screwed. Fast long singles can be hard to dock. Pull the pins on the rams and see if drive swings more. I know mine is limited because of the pistons. Talk to Skip over at MRD 6312255656, some times they have what you need in stock new or used.

Thanks Zup, my rams are mounted all the way out to the swim platform! There is very little turning with the drive. It was set up that way by the previous owner. He said it was done that way to prevent hooking while racing. Complete moron!!!

Capalano makes a helm that you can adjust the turning radius from the helm itself. A turn of a screw and you can go say from 2 turns lock to lock. To 4 turns lock to lock. That mite make the drive react faster for better docking control. Just an option dont know if that would help. My motor has a small pully on the crank to slow down the belt speed but at idle it make the steering a bit hard.

Hey PE my Velocity was originally rigged for racing and the pistons are long and mounted wide like yours. It can be a pain around the docks when the wind blows.
I only run a 26p and my boat is only 28' so I'm sure she's easier than yours.
You will need shorter pistons to make an improvement.
We gotta me up a Claudio's this year...

Hey Pat!! Yup, same set up. I need to check, but it was mentioned that the rams may have stops in them to prevent full range of motion.
