Do you have to buy Merc power???
How about another option from say Teague or another builder. I think what Merc charges for their stuff is ridiculous.
Get a motor from a builder that uses the new monster Whipple charger. It will go longer between rebuilds.

1075, better yet the 1025hp (lower octane); what is the price difference between the 850 and the 1075?

Go the 850's..your easily over 100 with all your peeps and stuff on there..an extra 10mph doesn't justify the additioanl coin.............................................. ................
ok..ok..Put Tommy's Turbo's in there and be done with it.

Why would you even consider the 850's. They both have the same rebuild interval, Its going to cost the same to up keep and rebuild. If fuel is an issue you can get 1025 computers.
Plus I have a nice set of 1075's with 25hrs on them for sale, ready to go at MTI factory.
