Trim cylinders

So after investigating all the possiblities it seems the pump part of my trim is fine (mercrusier pre-alpha outdrive). I took the pump apart and it operates in both up and down position. The shaft that turns the pump impeller spins when up trim is engage and when down trim is engaged. I suspect it is the trim clyinders from what I have been reading. Does anyone know about trim cylinder replacement. I have seen the full kits to replace Orings bushings, ancor clips, etc but will I need a hydrolic press to get old ones out &\or new ones in? Is it worth spending the $50 per cylinder for all the insides or should I go ahead and put the $200 a piece whole trim cylinder and inside & out ???

Hey sage1234,
If you want you can send us your trim pump and cylinders and we
can test the whole mess and tell you exactly what the skinny is. We can rebuild your pump or cylinders for a very minimal charge.

I send mine to Doller Offshore in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. to have them rebuilt. 1-954-463-9988, www.dollerofshore.com.

Just get some good used new style cylinders and the hoses and you will have NO more problems. I had constant problems with the old style because of the HP I was trying to trim up against. ( Blew O rings constantly )
