I am not a licensed surveyer, but did work for a boat dealership for a number of years. If you want me to go look at something would be happy to do so, just pay for some gas and beer. Heck if its close to me just beer

Cozzi, do you charge the same for a simple center console as for a sportfish? Just length determines your cost?

This may or may not matter to you but I can tell you that Ed Cozzi produces a very good survey from an insurance point of view. I highly recommend him. His surveys come across my desk a lot and they are done well and have never been rejected by a carrier.

Just my two cents

I charge by the foot for boats. If the sportfish is over 50', I charge more because there is so much more boat and systems to check. Many surveyors have a minimum charge of $500.00 for smaller boats.

If the center console is 23', for example, at $18.00 per foot I'm driving to Tampa for $414.00.

I use him all the time for both high performance and large yachts and I have discovered a way to either get his rate discounted or even waived.I would suggest that any prospective client of his steer him to the best available gentlemens club and if he survives you win.
