Default Air Dock/Lift size ?

Not sure if anybody will know here.
Im looking at a used "Air Dock" boat lift. The weight rating is ok(at least if its true that they go off dry weight rating) with my boat but its size measurment is couple feet to small in the size rating. Any idea if it will cause me problems?

i have one and it appears to be quite flexible in a weight and balance sense... but having said that , the manufacturer is a phone call away and really should be who you ask.

I talked to the Manufacturer once since I was looking at a used one that was bigger a month ago. He said it would not work, Not sure if he was just trying to sell me a new one or not.
Figure I would get some opinions here.

I would guess a couple more feet hanging off the front would not make a difference.
