I know the club is on hiatis, but what are the events and dates of things this summer?

Be great if we all posted events that we will be attending to try and run together.

Well the regular events will always be the get togethers at the playpen during the major weekends like Memorial day, Labor day, July 4th etc.

Then you will have the Chicago Scene party on July 31st

Air and Water show on Aug 14-15

I believe there will be another Mi City race this year not sure on the dates though

There's Venetian night in July i think its around the 25th

RV from the board puts together a fun run from Winthrop harbor.

Most weekends you will find people over at Boaters Beach

You have Milwaukee SummerFest June 24th-July 4th

Im sure theres more but thats what pops into my mind right off the cuff.

Michigan City race is August 8.
Events begin on Wednesday and last through Sunday.

I think the city has cancelled Venetian night to save money.

Maybe if you didnt spend so much taking Meigs field away and pissing $$$$$$ away to get the Olympics, we could still enjoy our city

Just be happy you dont have to live in the city! Nothin like payin 20 cents more a gallon for gas and 10 bucks for a pack of smokes. Or pay more money on a leased vehicle just because you live in chicago. Not too mention a harbor system that has a several year waiting list, no where to go by boat, and beaches you arent allowed to go to. Even now they have parking meters all around the city. Used to be just in the downtown areas, now you gotta pay the cash box 1 block from where you park, then walk 1 block back to your car to put the reciept in the window. And dont think that even if you are running inside the dry cleaners to pick up your suit for a total of 3 minutes, you wont get a ticket. They have more ticket writers than they do police. The best one i got was a couple months ago. I got a ticket for tinted windows on my pickup. While parked!!!! Not some 50 dollar ticket either. It was either 250 or 300 dollars.

I will be headin out to will county pretty soon. Sorry for the Rant guys! As for boating, I'll be on the indiana/michigan side from now on. Sucks cuz i live 5 minutes from burnham, but what ya gonna do.

We're having a Venetian Night and boat parade at the Michigan City race this year. The 2010 Great Lakes Grand Prix Venetian Nite is Friday, Aug. 6, on Trail Creek by the lighthouse in Michigan City.
Maybe this will help alleviate the pain of Daley's cancellation of the Chicago event.
