Default volvo penta 496

I'm repowering my 454mag bravo1 boat with 496 volvo penta (420hp).
Can anyone tell me what kind of mounting/hookup issues I may run into? Thanks

are you changing the drive and gimbal also? if you have the engine mount for the 496 it should not be any big deal, I believe the transom holes are the same, the bravo may have 2 exrta holes, but thats no biggy

i've done this with 8.2 but not with 8.1.
you may probably even be able to use the volvo drive coupler. you will have to use the merc bell housing. youmay have an interferance issue with the water intake fitting of you use the volvo coupler. the exhaust exits will most probably be slightly different as the manifolds are alittle different. the wiring harness plugs will probably be different depending on the years of the before & after. volvo and merc used the same plug for a while. it can be done. hope this helps.

Thanks guys, the consensus seems to be that any issues will be minor and easily surmountable. Thanks again for the input.
