The countdown for the first joint 2010 race featuring the Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association (OSS) and Super Boat International (SBI) is creating excitement and anticipation for teams and fans. Biloxi, Mississippi race producer Woody Bailey and his staff are gearing up for one of the top races in the World. Turbine Extreme boats can exceed 200 mph and OSS CAT boats will clock in at 150 mph down the straight-a-way. The other boat categories will run between 85 and 100 mph.

You can see all of the excitement up-close by going to any of the premium viewing areas which have an awesome panoramic view of the 8-mile race course along with restrooms, official merchandise vendors, varying entertainment, food and beverage offerings. New this year on Friday is the First Annual Smokin' Poker Run. This exciting extended-weekend event boasts spectacular parties, great local entertainment, not to mention the best in offshore racing with over 30 boats in 13 categories.

Smokin' The Sound (STS) is the 1st race of the year for the Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association (OSS). History will be made at this year, STS 2010 will be the first race ever to combine the teams from Super Boat International Productions (SBIP) and the OSS teams in a combined racing event. Speed, colorful race boats, passing, come-from-behind victories and an airshow of helicopters that hover as close as 25 feet from the boats will be the norm. So hold on to your seat and watch all the excitement up-close as Smokin' The Sound roars into the Mississippi Sound.

OSS announces the winners of the first complementary hotel room drawing. Congratulations to Mark and Jenni Dunbar of Team Under Destruction for having their name drawn from all of the teams that raced with OSS in Biloxi and LOTO last year. The winner was selected by a random drawing held in Detroit. This first drawing is for a hotel room at the annual Smokin' the Sound Race in Biloxi, MS. May 20-23, 2010.
