I'm looking at a vehicle thats 1000miles from me. A finance company has the title. The seller needs money to get the title prior to pick up. The idea of sending money in the blind hoping that the vehicle gets paid off sacres me. How would you guys handle this? Send the money directly to the finance company? But then he would get a clear title and could say thanks for the pay off. Is there a safe way to do this? Thanks, Doug

Doug, it sounds like a scam to me. Send money first then get the item no way! If you are interested get your bank to deal with the finance company direct. Ask them to secure the item first.

I wouldn't touch it! I search Craigslist and just type in my hometown location. If I can't go see it in person I don't touch it.
