I cannot really say much about the newer 29s, I had a 1987 scarab panther w/ twin 454s in it. It was a great riding boat. I now have a Baja 29 Outlaw and can say for sure that most 29 footers I have seen, or driven are faster with twins. I have heard that single engine 29s still ride good and are easy to handle, but are pigs when it comes to top speed. Of course that depends on how BIG the single is, but then you get in to more expense, more mtc...etc

I've got a '96 with a single 509" making about 620hp. It'll do low 70's with a light load. It is awsome when it gets rough! That is actually my favorite time do drive it. With stock power the singles are very slow, just too much boat for 415hp. I love it.

yea sounds like a good time.
any idea what i sould sell my 1995 scarab 22 for. its really nice 40 hr on the sbc 350 . 30 over a cam stainless marine headers alumium intake single plane with a 750 double pumper all msd ignition, basicly its been all gone through. its procharged at 8 lbs new graphics, redone trailer, new dual ram trim tabs, drive shower, alpha one, 25 pitch mirage prop. all it needs is the bottom of the two front seats to be recovered and the back bench bottm seat to be recovered also. also its has custom gauge panel and all auto meter gauges like i said this thing is all done. runs in the low 70's.
the only thing missing on the boat is the windsheild it was broke when i bought it.
