Prop Selection?
Need some help! I have a 2005 Formula 353 Fastech with 525's and Bravo XR 1.5 to 1 drives, no extension boxes and no ITS factory steering. The boat came with 5 blade Hydramotive P-5's 29 x 15.25 props.
Formula factory says they have never used Hydramotives on the Fastechs and the Mercury Maximus 5 blades they do use on the 353's are either 26, 27, or Labbed 28's. I'm having multiple issues with the boat handling and can't help but think it's related to the props. The boat will list drastically to the port side when it gets up on plane. Also, I have a difficult time keeping the rpm's close without advancing the starboard side throttle further than the port side. Also, top end RPM is difficult to reach near Mercury maximum of 5200, which you would assume with larger diameter props.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
