Default Repairing Mercury 600/662/700/850/1075sci PCM's

Just wanted to let you all know we have successfully been able to repair failures to the PCM such as the dreaded IAC driver, fuel pump never on, or always on, coil driver failure, boost control valve failure......

$400 to $600 depending on the failure. But if the boat is new, Merc should warranty it.

There was a 600sci owner at the marina 2 summers ago who needed an ECM ASAP and it was under warranty and had to wait for Merc. I think he would have gladly paid than have to wait!

Ya the IAC failure is pretty common and it typically takes 5-10 days to get warrantied.

That's exactly what the issue was... They were calling everyone they knew to try and find one... I tried pulling a favor and contacted a builder I knew, he laughed me off the phone. They were ready to buy a computer rather than wait, and no one had one, he could have overnighted to you!!!

Thanks for the info, I'll pass it along to my contacts at the marina.

Is this the same PCM555 computer that the 525 uses?

I wish this post was 3 weeks earlier. I just had to buy a computer for my 700 that had been killed by the IAC.

What would it have cost to get it fixed?
