Default Calling Tom Newby

You guys will think I'm pretty strange, but http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...ing-tom-newby/.

It's weird the way death leaves a hole.

Don't want to bring you down. It was actually a good moment. Just strange.

Have a great weekend.

Nice reminder to look back fondly on those that have left us. Thanks for sharing that.

Makes sense to me. I feel the same way about Pat (Secret Squirrel) and Brian (Straight Jacket). Something will happen or something will be said that triggers a moment that ... for a just a moment ... you forget they aren't accessible any more. The t-shirt Brian sent me after the LOTO OSS race is still one of my favorite shirts.... I wear it often .... and every time I see a squirrel in my yard I think of Pat and smile. Miss those guys. Lots of great chats about life ... relationships ... and the trials that come happen day to day....

and then I remember how important it is to tell those that are important to us how important they are.....

I spent a day with him, but he remains with me forever. Very cool guy.

Sure do miss Tom. I have so many great memories of him. His work stood for itself, but he was also an unbelievable friend and partner in crime at any event we covered for the magazine.

I sh!t you not, when I glanced at the threads and saw "Calling Tom Newby", for a split second I thought to myself, "I should text him and let him know someone is looking for him..."

Not too odd. I still have a very good friends cell # listed as one of my Favs and he is dead almost three years now.

Matt!

That isn't weird, many of us have all done something like that. You miss your friend Tom Newby and sometimes there is something we see or think of that trigger's a fond memory of past family members, friends and events. I carry a little door plate that I had made for my Dad when he was in the nursing home but he died on New Year Eve in 2005 before I could put it on his door. I still carry it in my car and when I look at it I think if him. Thanks for sharing your weirdness with us, I also think of Tom Newby every time I look at the Powerboat Poster that I have framed of September 11, 2001. I never Knew Tom but think of him taking that picture and many other great photo's he took. RIP Tom

I'm Weird
