Every time I hear on the news of some disaster in and around Tennessee, I can't help but think of Jim Poplin and the STARS RESCUE TEAM.

The very same group of guys that made sure our racers were safe at so many of the races for over 25 years !!!

With now Nashville completely under water, I couldn't but help think about STARS. Whenever I can, I check Face Book hoping to see Jim Poplin's name appear. Tonight it did. I then knew he was safe.

He and his crew just came back from Nashville. No surprise there !
They were out rescuing people and saving them from drowning.

Jim's response:
"never seen anything like it. We pulled three firemen off their firetruck, water was up to the hose bed. Pulled people out of trees and off two story roof tops...amazing!"

My hat is off to Jim and the entire STARS TEAM for their bravery and heroism .
I am sure they all would just say they are doing their job, saving lives is what they do, but every time they respond to a call, they are usually putting their own lives on the line to save others.

It takes some very special people to do that !

So I raise my glass tonight to STARS and all of the other Rescue Workers and Emergency personnel that answer those calls every day and night ! And not to leave out those that responded to the Bomb in the SUV in Times Square.

Thanks for bring the efforts of the Stars Rescue Team to the attention of the members of OSO. They are truly Heroes at the Offshore Powerboat Races and Heroes that have big hearts to help out whenever and where ever they can. Great job by all.
