I know there are all kinds of business owners here, so I thought I'd toss it out there.

All I want is a white die-cut of the Formula 'Thunderbird' logo. Just the bird, not the word Formula. I went to my local sign guy and they want $65!!! A place I used to go to have my reg numbers made in die-cut is no longer around.

Do you already have the bird logo in a vector file or would someone need to create the logo? To be honest if the logo needs to be created then $65 is not that bad of a price!

I don't know what a vector file is...? I can pull one from from the web and email it to them, or I could print one and let them scan it.

I guess I didn't know what was/is involved, just thought that seemed like a lot of scratch. More that I would want to spend for a sticker. Like I said, I used to have a guy who would do up beautiful reg. numbers on die-cut sheets very inexpensively.......maybe that's why he's no longer around.

There are two types of files: vector and bitmap. Bitmaps are photos, made up of pixels. No good for cutting. Vectors are basically outline paths that can be enlarged or reduced infintely.

You don't 'scan' a logo. You 'vectorize' it. Can be a time consuming process depending on the quality of the image you are working from. Most shops charge $60-75/hr for the service. Cutting reg numbers is a totally different thing- you just type them in.

Sounds confusing, whats "vectorize" is that the same thing as energize?
