I was wondering how many Stinger 375's were built? I think they were only made for 3 years, but I could be wrong. Anybody have an answer??????

According to the brochures, and the registry at www.chriscraftstingers.com, the 375s were only built in 1988. There was a 385 built in 1989. Again, according to the brochures, the 375 and 385 were the same length. I don't have sales numbers, but if you can find a HIN (hull number) for a 375 it contains "number built" I believe which can give you an idea.

If it's like my Cig
1st 3 digits are MFR
2nd 3 digits are Model and/or Length
Next 2 digits are Hull number
Next letter and digit are the month (Ltr) and year (Digit) made
Last 2 digits are production year

Note that you can have a unit produced say in 1987 and sold as a 1988 model....

This help??

After 1984, you would decode the HIN as such:

HIN = ccvaf179c686
CCV = Plant Code
AF = Model Code
179 = Hull Number
C = Month Code of Manufacture
6 = Year of Manufacture
86 = Model Year

Where

Stinger Model Codes
AF 260
AG 312
AJ 311
AL 390
BK 314
BN 202

Chris Craft Plant Codes
CCB Sarasota, FL
CCT Gallipilos, OH
CCV Goshen, IN
UNF Bellingham, WA
CCH Holland, MI
CCN Swansboro, NC
CCL Eaton Park, FL
CCU Italy
CIT Bradenton, FL
OFV Morgan City, LA

Dates Codes Post 1984
A = Jan I = Jul
B = Feb J = Aug
C = Mar K = Sep
E = Apr L = Oct
G = May M = Nov
H = Jun N = Dec

So using my HIN which is UNFFB107J788, I surmise that mine was made in Bellingham Washington and that FB is the code for 375 designer series(???). It was made in August of 1987, but was a 1988 model. The hull number is 107. Am i right to assume that it was the 107th one built? Mine is also titled as an 87, but it is an 88 model, would that be a mistake from the factory, Secretary of State, or not a mistake at all?

E-Rock - sounds about right. I'm not sure if it's the 107th built - I have no confirmation that 107 = 107th built, but it seems like it is. Also not sure about the title. Would have to go back to the original documents for that. By the way, do I have your boat on the website (www.chriscraftstingers.com) - if not, would love to add it.

I think it may be read wrong.

For instance, my Bullet was made from 1988 to 1993 and there was only 63 made during the entire 5 year run.

I'm pretty sure the model is FB1 and it was the 7th one made that year. I just can't believe there were over 100 made.

Considering the history, and the fact that there are no numbers after any of the model codes is it possible that this was the first one made? It is titled as an 87 however it is an 88 model. From what I am told It was sent up to saber when it was new for some experimental drive boxes and then sort of vanished off the radar when the project floundered. I bought it at a repo lot, minus the drive boxes, but still rigged for them. Hollowpoint I actually had the new transom installed by David Spade at Rising Sun in Virginia Beach and Jeff Riddle did all of the rigging for me. They did awesome work at a good price, are you familiar with them?

Hantunca, you do have the pics on your sight. Did you get the ones of a 375 that you do not have on the sight? I sent the link a couple days ago.
