Default Help w/ Livorsi tach zeroing @5000rpms

Anyone ever seen a tach that wont fall to zero but still responds to rpms and zeros at 5000rpm mark? Almost like the needle is installed 180* off... I am baffeled. Before you ask I have checked and recheck the wiring and also wired the other tach in and it works fine. The dipswitch is set and reset. Cant take it apart to get to the inside either.. Please any ideas I am running out of HAIR!!!!!!!!
If anyone has a set they want to get rid of let me know, I am looking for Chrome and carbon face w/ high vis needles.
