Default North Carolina Beachs (Wrightsville)

I'm planning a trip, can anyone suggest a great beach spot in North Carolina? We are thinking about the Wrightsville area.

Used to own a beach house a couple of streets back on Wrightsville beach. It is a very nice NC beach, UNCW is there and OMG lots of hot girls, I know my sister went to school there and I visited all the time, seriously 5 girls to 1 guy. Anyway not a big boating scene at least I never found it. But it is a cool place to visit and very little BS tourist stuff. Downtown Wilmington is the night life and their are plenty of places for dinner and fun.

Wrightsville is a great area. I lived on Oak Island (about 30 miles south by car) for 8 years and in Wilmington for 2. I love the area and would still be there if the winters were warmer.

Dunno what kind of vacation you're after, with kids or without... as TB said- there's plenty to do in Wrightsville. Carolina Beach is a bit more laid back. Masonborough Island is where the locals hang out- you'll need a boat to get to it. The high rent district is just north of Wrightsville- Figure Eight Island. If you want a place very laid back and away from crowds, check out Holden Beach- about 35 miles south of Wrightsville.

Their was a hotel at the northern end of Wrightsville beach I cannot remember what it was, but last time I was there it was about 10' from being washed into a inlet that was created during a big storm, so not sure if it is still there or not?? Again down by the beach not allot of tourist stuff like that. I would go on craigs list and see if you can rent a beach cottage or condo. here are some examples

Nice place. 99% of the boating is fish boats. I still have a house in Sunset Beach NC. Lived there for about 8 years when I had the marina etc in Myrtle Beach. Depends what kind of fun you like to have
