Default how do it tell what gearing my outdrive has

I have two alpha 1 units on my 86 stinger 260 with the 260/V8s i have a cracked lower unit on one and I cant find the gear ratio on it.

Mark the housing and prop shaft with a paint stick or the likes.
Do the same on the input shaft.

Turn the input shaft 1-2 times in order to get the prop shaft marks to line up. Now see where that puts the marks on the top/input shaft.

If you have turned the input shaft over 1.5 times to line up the marks on the bottom, you have a 1.5:1.
