I recently over reved my motor Gen VI 454 broke a valve spring . I figured I would do a cam swap while I had the motor apart but I need some help getting the correct parts needed.
I picked up a carbed HP 500 cam and now I am looking for the correct springs to match the cam.
While searching if found that I should use comp cams 929 springs... What diameter should I use? are these the correct springs to use?
Can I use my stock push rods and Lifters with a cam that has this much lift?
Is there any thing elts that I should consider getting while I have it apart?
The motor only has about 20 hrs on it since it was rebuilt.
I would really appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Thanks

You will need to have good high performance exhaust to run the HP500 cam. You should run better lifters as well and will probably need them for the higher lift cam.
Comp 929 will work fine. Isky 8005-SP or 8205-SP are better.

It already has pritty decent exhaust manifolds, What kind of lifters should I look for?
Heres a pic of what manifolds are on it now
