Jeff, Congrats on the new motor. Rob At Hot To Go is just finishing a 496 stroker that he is puttig in my Scarab 22. He is a great guy to work with and treated my boat like it was his own. Would recommend him to anyone.

Just to answer a few questions...we changed out the 575 pistons to raise the compression a bit, changed the cam, installed Dart marine heads and added an intercooler. This is the same 502 engine we use on our very reliable 800-900hp Whipple charged engines. We had the stock blowers stripped and spun them the same as your average 650hp ugrade. At only 7lbs of boost with all the stock throttle bodies and ignition and a higher volume fuel pump I was impressed with 855hp and 872ft/lbs...this will not be a real expensive upgrade for that kind of reliable power...I'll put together some pricing soon...thanks....Rob
Have fun Jeff

Looks like the cost to upgrade to the 850hp 575merc. including a complete rebuild with aluminun heads and super-chiller and a blower rebuild and stripped for more efficiency would be around 12k per motor....try to buy an 850EFI for that!!! www.htgracing.com
