i have a 25ft outlaw, it had a 7.4 mpi in it, the block is cracked so i want ur adivces on what i should go with...
ive talked to a dealer about doing motor work, these are the options they gave me..
can put a 7.4 block back in for me and cost is like 5000 for block plus labor on getting all sset up. or i can get a 383 complete turn key plug and play for 9500. or i can get the black scorpion 400 hp for 12000, and then he said a 496, 375 hp for 12500... what would be my best option.. i have not heard much about the 383 but i know a few ppl who have them and they like them... would that be enough power for my boat.. thanks for your input i appricate it

I think Smurfonaboat just swapped his 454mag out for a 500hp see if you can contact him. Depending on what you want to spend he may let it go for a good price and get you back on the water.

If I were you I would either:
1) Buy a new Gen VI 454 std. bore block and put all of your old components back into it; or
2) Buy a complete motor from the swap shop, and sell your old EFI/ignition system.
Either way I'd tend to think that the total repair shouldn't cost much more than $5k.
