were is the best overall place to put the x - dimention on a 42 lighting flat bottom with 4s on boxes and staggered 800s would it be crazy to go above 0

If you're talking 0 or around there, that would be the propshaft height, not the actual X dimension. Might want to post this in the Fountain section for better answers.
