I just finished the run from Fort Myers to Stuart "ditch trip" last night . I left Sat morning in my 27 fever , 6 on board and a big cooler . 123 miles each way . Lake Okeechobee was really rough , took about an hour and a half to get across . The boat ran great ('04 496 magho , 28 bravo1) I cruised the ICW at aeound 3800 rpm which is about 42-44 mph . I did have my bimini top up and along with the weight I was hauling , fuel economy was down big time . I learned my boat holds 60 gallons of fuel , lol . I ran out of fuel literally a stones throw from the fuel dock but I attribute that to the rough water on the Lake . On the trip home , I stopped at Roland Martins and put in 15 gallons , just in case , but the Lake was smooth on the trip home . This was my first day long trip in my Fountain and I have to say it was great !

Just an idea but if you are goin to be running for extened periods of time, consider putting a drive shower on your drive, it will keep it cool. If you look at your drive after the trip and their is residue/minerals on the top of the drive, it is from it heating way up and the water evaporating off of it. Hotter the drive gets the less time the drive oil will protect it.
