Default Which brand of air bags???

I'm going to upgrade my 2005 duramax 2500HD rear suspension and need some info. I wanted to add rear air bags and new shocks since I just upgraded to a bigger boat and getter very close to my maximum towing capacity.

Does anyone have suggestions on what brand of air bag system and if the onboard compressor is worth the money? I also need shocks and was thinking about adding bilstiens....

Thanks...

The Firestone and the AirLifts are both made by Firestone so I am told.

That said, the Firestones seem to have a little beefier hardware.

We changed to Bilstiens on our F350, and they made a world of difference loaded and unloaded over the stock shock absorbers. Also running Firestone airbags, as already said.

Firestones on my F250 Diesel since 06 and they work great. Installed air pump in the engine comp, switch with gauge in cab.

This is not an airbag set up but sort of does the same thing. The plus is that you never have to worry about adjusting the PSI or getting a leak. Once it is on that is it, you are done and it does not effect the ride, if anything it makes it better over the washboard road.

Myself and a good friend of mine both have GMC 2500s with the D-max and love it!

Also.... you cannot go wrong with Bilstiens!! I have over 100K on my and they are just like the day I put them on!

My Firestone bags make my 2006 Dodge dually ride much rougher than stock when I'm not towing anything. If I had known about the Active Suspension kit I would have bought that instead.

Firestone Ride-Rite for the rear airbags. The mounting hardware is very solid, and the bags are great.

Bilstien for the shocks. They're twice as much money as standard shocks, but well worth the extra money.

Firestone or Air Lift are both good bags. I have the Air Lift super-duty bags on my F-350. If you can swing it, get the on board compressor so you can adjust pressure as needed based on what is in the bed.

As far as shocks go, I highly recommend KYB monomax shocks. Value priced with great ride and control and lifetime warranty.
