Phuck the north. I always wanted to be back here when I lived there but once you live in a warm place by the ocean you just can't go back. I already have a house there.

For what it is worth my buddy just moved back from Raleigh, NC after 14 years. He grew up in Boca and moved to NC when the boom was just beginning. He has been in Jupiter for a few weeks and is totally aggravated he didn't move back years ago! Boating, fishing, blue water, nice weather, lack of state tax were all reasons enough for him!

I would move back to Ft. Lauderdale in a HEARTBEAT but it's too far from my boys in NJ. I moved to Myrtle Beach in 98 and rode the boom big time until 2006 when I sold everything there. But, I still have a house there with my ex thats been for sale for 3 years WITHOUT an offer. Started at 550K and is now 350K. Beautiful place too....

And, MB is almost exactly 1/2 way between FTL and NJ. It's an easy one day car trip north or south.

Dollar, I moved down during 05 building boom.Made good money up till 08, put it all back in and getting pummeled.

2 houses and 1 lot ,Not 1 offer in 1.5 yrs went back to ny this past winter to work it sucked. Dirty crime ridden way of life.
But you can always make a living.

Some a hole just ran down 4 little girls crossing the street, knocked 2 clear of his vehicle (airborne) and 2 others holding on the hood of his car.A good samaritan chased him down and got him to stop.No license and a wetback ,no surprise. Dont get me wrong we have crime but not every day common **** like NY.

Im commuting every 3 weeks or so to see my wife and kids.

Best of luck on selling soon.

I first moved down in 97/98 ish. I saw where things were going (wayyyy up) and started buying waterfront and commercial property in 2000 before it all went up. Made a killing and sold it in '06.........to...you guessed it......... get divorced. Took a serious hit. Oh well. My current business can be done from anywhere so what the ehll, I might as well live in that beautiful home and stay away from the snow. AND be able to shoot down to FTL once amonth

It's sad to hear the housing market sucks down there as well. I always wondered why you moved to NJ, I take it the ex moved back there with the kids. If it was not for the kids it would be a no brainer to move back down south, what a dilema I feel for you.

If ya got the house, and biz can be run from there, why not give it a try. I always liked Myrtle Beach, but I was just a tourist on Vaca. Not sure how it would be to live there.
