I read an article several months ago about the danger of using Synthetic Oil with roller cam engines ,something about it's too slick ,and the roller lifters will not roll but wear flat spots, does anyone have advise or proof of this, I don't want to ruin my cam. Thanks.

Stock motors with hydraulic rollers, I've seen zero problems in 12 years using 15W-50 Mobil 1.

If synthetic is so slick that a roller will not roll with it then wouldn't that be slick to the point that it would not create a flat spot in the first place?

Break it in on Mineral, then run good syn oil. Powerboat Mag had an article a few years back claiming that syn was too slipery. Its BS. If it was wrong, I'd guess that the ZO-6 and ZR-1 Vette's that come from the factory with it wouldn't have it.

I only use valvoline VR 1 racing oil on a roller ! Never had a problem !!!!

If you took out a cam and lifters it wasn't due to Mobil 1. As stated above, if its too slick to turn a roller, it's way too slick to cause wear. You had a lifter failure. I have run mobil 15w50 in my roller cam boats since 1996. No issues except when walmart runs out of 5 qt jugs.
Nearly every premium engine in cars gets M1 for a factory fill. all of them are roller cams.
NOW if we're talking M1 starting oil leaks conventional didn't, I agree with that.
