Merc HP gear lube (drive lube). Mine 177 on my 525SC had 500hrs on the blower and was never apart. Lube was changed every 30 hrs or so for the 300hrs I owned it.

Interesting - I have a true gear oil in it right now. I'll try the Gear Lube, especially since I have some.
