My wife is from Sao Paulo. She calls it the New York City of Brazil. I was there several years ago after we first visited Rio. The people are very friendly and a lot of them speak English. The most notable thing I remember are the beautiful women everywhere and great food.

I second that! The food is great and everything is cheap. (compared to the US dollar). I could not believe the amount of beautiful women there! I was only in SP for a day then went on to Rio for 10 days. I could have stayed a year! If you can get down to Rio I'd recommend it. PM me and I will tell you some real good places to visit!
