Default 2006 Turbine 50 Nortech just sold for 187K at auction!

This was the all white 50 at National. I don't think the boat was actually finished but the parts were all there.

They linked it to the Rothstein auction (Ponzi schemer) but I think Terry mentioned it was actually part of another scam.

The cars/jet skiis seem to have sold at full retail money......certainly no bargains.

Bugatti went for 858K, 08 SLR 301K, 07 RR Phantom 240K, 08 430 Spyder 199K.....not steals by any means. I think you could buy from a factory authorized dealer for those prices!

It was unrigged with all of the parts in boxes.
Somebody said it looked like it was painted white with a roller or spray cans.
Not part of the Rothstein collection.

Yes and no, it was low miles and clean but it was an Expedition not a Navigator. Why would someone stretch an Expediton, that would be like a stretched Crown Victoria vs a Lincoln Towncar.

The paper quoted later in the day that "the IRS has 3 days to refuse the bids!" Not sure I have ever heard of that in an auction. Those prices were retail on everything but the 87 ft. yacht and the Bugatti. But being those are tough items to sell (in a recession) they got good money for them!

There is a thread in the Superboat Owners forum about a turbine powered 30' SB. It is rigged with a Sage crashbox and drive. Pics and info there.
