Talking Catalina Ski Race

I am going to the Catalina ski race this year and want to know where to stay. Should I stay on the Island or in Long Beach? Might be fun to see the start & finish of the race by staying in Long Beach. Maybe take the ferry over for the day. Any suggestions? Poolshrk

Try the Hyatt downtown Long Beach across from shoreline village.

I've heard that Long Island and that it is a great place to stay. A little expensive but great views. You should try it.

There are lots of places to stay there BUT you won't see very much from the island. I was the turn boat two years in a row.....it's a mad rush and it's all over. Much more to see in Long Beach.

Try the Bahia, it's the race HQ.

I like to watch out by queens gate for the start and anchor by the finish line for the finish. The Coast hotel was a fun place if you don't take a boat out.

When in Long Beach, never moon the police helicopter. They get very upset. I won't go in to how I know this...

The "Coast Hotel" is now the Bahia.
