Hey Guys
I am gonna pick up a VHF radio for this summer, I boat mainly in the 1000 Island region [US and Canadian waters] and wondered if you could offer any input on what to look for [OTHER than price, LOL!] I have no real "brand loyalty" but, would like something with DSC and maybe even AIS, since there are a lot of ships floating around those waters, and some of them [especially the tugboats] aren't lit up real well. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

I'm looking at the Standard Horizon HX850s. VHF, GPS and DSC...
Anyone have any "real world" experience with this one? Or any others they can recommend?
