Exclamation Effects of Oil Spill in Gulf on Offshore Schedule

So, I was sitting at home last nite watching how BP was unable to successfully cap this ongoing spill in the Gulf and it brousght a question to mind. What effects will this have on Offshore Racing??? Will locations change because teams do not want to run in that type of condition. I can only imagine what an "oil slick" can do to a boat after watching all of the effects on wildlife and plantlife.

Any thoughts????

Dont think it would be a concern from a racers perspective. Its more than likely, if there was an oil slick anywhere near a race site, the race would be cancelled, by the CG due to cleanup activity and enviromental issues. We'll have to keep a close watch on Sarasota and then Orange Beach and eventually KW. Time will tell.

No problem in Sarasota as of yet..and i don't think there will be in the next 2 month so the July race is 99.9% a go !!!!

The prediction maps I have see do not show oil impacting sarasota due to the currents. One good hurricain in the gulf and all bets are off though.
