In trying to put a Series together 2 years ago.....must of the guys I talked to did not want to race a sigle outboard.....and the 45k price tag would not fit even with Joker helping us on the hull with a I/O...
It still looks like these guys are having fun....

my question is...

WTF is wrong with those boats? must be a bad design. I've been out in all kinds of boats in all kinds of water and those things handle like hell.

Would more people race in a one-design class like that? prob yes. In that particular boat? i don't think so

No, not in that particular boat...but a sinle engine O/B like a 26 Joker boat...

From racing F1 to Super-Vee...it seems like some of the greatest racing I have seen and have been in has been smaller boats...25 to 30 feet

I spent 6 months working with B.H's hull and a number of engine builders trying to get the price down to 45k....just could not get it close....the only way was a single OB....but know one wanted one....

But still looks like a cool class....I think Class 5 in OPA is the closest to it...

45K for that????? It's a Honda 225 ( I think) and a hull. You should be able to buy the hull with the engine for 25-30

We looked at hull and a I/O plus XR..with rigging tabs sterring gauges...it could not be done...but still looks like a great little class...even with the 26 Joker hull and a Honda 225 was 35k before rigging, seats, gauges, tabs, pumps, ect....I thought the same thing till we ran the numbers....I never realized how much it really cost to build a boat..even a 26 footer...

It is a little nuts....but reminds me of the old f1 days....while we did have rubbbing a few times with 2 to 4 boat hitting each other going into turn one....it was some great racing...and very intense....
These guys look like there are no rules when passing another boat...
