Question Borg Warner Velvet Drive Question..?

What is the max HP you can put to a stock Borg Warner Velvet Drive driveline tranny....

can they be beefed up with different clutch plates to hold 1000hp?

Not really. The eight clutch setup will not take that much power. Ateco is working on converting the tranmissions to 11 clutches. It requires machining and new parts. I am testing them in the MTI with 1450 hp.

BAM and Huber both offer Velvet Drive upgrades to 11 clutch discs and over 1400 ft-lbs.
A Huber 9 disc is rated at 1200 ft-lbs.
