With all the joining of Orgs and all...what is the deal for a OPA Team to race in Sarasota in P Class...
With OSS joining with SBI....Do you have to pay boat reg. to race in each Org
Dose OPA teams pay boat, equipment, crew and entre fees for Sarasota and then pay again for Key West for 2011, I believe that was the way it use to be..but did not know if anything was worked out over the winter
Thanks...

Gino,
The best thing you can do is call the SBI office and get a clarification straight from JC or Deana. 305-296-6166
Point being, if anybody on here gives you an answer and its not 110% accurate, you cant use the "it was posted on OSO" as an excuse with them.

Super Boat International has been working closely with Billy Mauff and the Offshore Super Series to create a concept for the teams to race with each organization without impacting the teams financially. The agreement is as follows:
•
SBI will accept the current 2010 OSS racer, crew, and equipment owner memberships at SBI events;
•
OSS will accept the current 2010 SBI racer, crew, and equipment owner memberships at OSS events;
•
Entry fees at the race site would be paid to the organization producing the event;
•
The race would be run by the organization producing the event, in all aspects, inspection, referee, registration, medical, scoring, etc.;
•
The race will be run as one event with trophies and prize money paid according to the event finish;
o
Prize money would be paid according the organizations rule book to any entry, OSS or SBIP member;
o
Trophies would be given according to the finish of the race;
o
Points will be awarded according to the organization the team is a member of;
The Key West World Championship race starts a new season (2011), everyone racing would have to join Super Boat International.
Smokin the Sound in Biloxi, Mississippi is added to the Super Boat schedule as a point race for the SBI members. The event is schedule for May 20 – 23; Offshore Super Series will promote and facilitate all race activities of the event.
Super Boat International and Offshore Super Series extend this same concept to the OPA members to participate at the SBI and OSS produced events.
If you have any questions, please call me at 305-296-6166 (office) or 305-360-1762 (cell).
