Default Saved Two People In De River From Drowing On Sun 6-20-10

In The Right Place At The Right Time Around 5:30 Pm On Sunday 6-20-10 Driving Along With A Another Boat When We Came Across Two People In Middle Of River Wearing Life Jackets , Out Of Breath And Really Upset , Drug Them On My Boat And Said They Were Missing A 40 Year Old Female . The The Survivors Were 19 Year Old Female And Her 40 YO Father , We Began To Search Immd For His Girfriend But We Never Found Her , Many Calls To 911 And Hailed Cg On # 16 And Seemed Like Hours Before They Arrived . About 1/2 Later The loc Had 2 Helos And Countless Fd And Police . Around 1 Am The 40 Male Survivor We Pulled From Water Called To Thank Me . I Was At As Loss For Words Knowing His Gf Was Gone. The reason for posting this is to say , life to short , love the ones you love and enjoy every minute of life

Kevlar Great Job on your part.... Very sad to hear that one was lost.
What happened that caused them to be in the water?

Getting conflicting stories but what I hear the most is they were on a boat , ran out of gas and they tried to make it to shore on a Raft , it overturned and the 40 YO female that could not swim was not wearing a PFD. I don't know if anyone here has been put in this situation when you have only minutes frantically searching for victim because of very short window to revive which we were prepared to do , had a nurse on board but sad to say it never happened . Both survivors were exhausted understandably very upset when we brought them aboard .Lesson here is simple . if your a poor swimmer or cant swimmer wear a PFD

Man I am sure that will be something that you will NEVER forget. I know when I was thrust into a similiar situation it took years for me to not think about it ever hour. Now I think about it about once a day. You did great to save the two!

I hate to post such bad news but they found her body earlier today, very sad. i was at the westville fire dept today and they were out with there boat when i heard the bad news . they said she jumped to a raft or tube without a life jacket and she went threw the tube and under and the current carried her away. she could not swim and her two young children were on the boat, my prayers go out to the family.
