Default DPX problem.

Hey guys, having drive probs. Have a 2000 Campion Chase 800 w/415 502 mated with a Volvo DPX. will not shift into forward or reverse. getting off the trailer, went into reverse with no prob, when putting into forward, nothing no noise, no grind. is now in nuetral will not go into gear. thought it might be the cable, took off cover all working fine. any suggestions?

first with the engine off put the drive into gear and see if you can turn the props, if so spin them and listen..if you hear matel shaffing in the middle of the drive then you may hav broke the splined coupler that mates the lower and upper shafts..its a common problem if you stick it into gear at a higher idle..

scroll down to the 8th page,,part # 3....

Its not that hard to replace, you have to separate the upper and the lower and that Collier is what mates the splines between the two...

Drain the oil first and look for shavings,if the oil comes out silver then its probably the upper gear set..
