=================================
OAKLAND PARK — Dozens of firefighters from two cities were battling a blaze at Trick Marine in Oakland Park late Tuesday night.

The blaze was reported at about 10 p.m. at the intersection of East Prospect Road and Northeast Sixth Avenue.

By 11:30 flames that earlier had shot high into the air appeared to be dying down, and members of Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue and Oakland Park Fire-Rescue continued to douse the blaze. Pompano Beach Fire-Rescue sent a ladder truck.

The fire produced heavy clouds of smoke that drifted to the west; a strong odor of burning fuel enveloped the immediate area.

Prospect Road, Northeast Sixth Avenue and several smaller side streets were blocked off, and fire officials could not say when the streets would be reopened.

People could be seen running back and forth between houses directly behind the burning business, but the homes did not appear to be affected. A one-floor apartment complex next to the building also did not seem to be affected.

Witnesses said a couple residents attempted to put out the fire with garden hoses, and they continued to help the firefighting effort.

No other information was immediately available.

They are down the street from my brothers Vette shop, I never saw any Cats there, just some fishing boats they were selling and a couple years ago the Key West line he had on the lot.
