Default how much hp 454

Just like the title says...how much reliable hp can you get out of a naturally aspirated 454...no pro chargers etc

Id say around 500HP max.

on a stock engine, probably not much more than 1 HP per cubic inch.
and that may be stretching it a bit.

Reliable HP out of a 454 or any motor is mainly going to depend on how it is treated, but for a 454, I wouldnt want to go much over 500. You would be far better off to get a 502 block and make yourself a 540 or a 565 out of it and let the cubic inches work for you in making extra power without getting too radical. A 540 will make way over 500 and 600 or better with the right heads and a small cam...a 565 will do even more.
