Default Drive trim motor question???

I've noticed recently my drive trim motor is getting "stuck" occasionally while using the baja. It may be easier to replace the unit but my question is can you just replace the motor or do you have to do the whole unit. Most of the ones I see for sale include the solenoid, the pump and the reservior.

You can just replace the motor. Most starter/alternators places can rebuild it for you. It just comes off with two 5/16 bolts and the wires. Pretty easy, I just went thru one on my boat last weekend to replace the valve body.

They rarely need a full rebuild because they get so little use. If you pull the motor apart there are brushes and an armature. Usually there is some corrosion in there that can be polished off and you are good as new. I have one slowing down a little, on my list of things to do.
